According to a recent press release from Adidas, Russia is one of the company's fastest-growing markets. The growth of consumerism in Russia has meant that a large number of the world's biggest brands are selling well there, and Adidas trainers are no exception. In fact, the company expects Russia and the CIS countries to be their biggest-earning European market by 2010. The story behind the brand's success in these countries is its focus on specific areas and brands.
Adidas trainers are one of the biggest-selling overseas brands in Russia. Adidas currently has a significant lead in the market, estimating its share to be twice that of the next competitive brand. As other sports suppliers take more notice of this market, however, and push to increase their own market share, marketing Adidas trainers will become increasingly important. The company has plans to open further stores in Russia and the CIS and that, along with significant national and international sponsorship deals should help to keep Adidas trainers at the forefront of the market.
